Zhang Zilong,now a pursuer of Master degree of Journalism at Journalism &Media Study CenterJ(MSC), HKU, spent 6 years in reporting and writing for traditional and new media company,now also worked as freelancing copywriter for partners in Shanghai,Beijing.
After graduating from the Media & Communication School of Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2012 majored in broadcasting and film editing,Zilong pursued a career in various media from 2013 to 2018.
From 2014 to 2015,Zilong worked with Shanghai Daily(上海日报), an English-language newspaper belong to Shanghai United news group, as a copy-sorter tasked to monitor news reports.In early 2016, he joined Bluewhale media,which now know as Jiemian(界面财联社) as a reporter covering the TMT beat,focusing on the rapidly growing and ever-changing new media business.He got access to the booming entertainment industry in China and built a rich collection of sources within the industry.Zilong was promoted as vice chief editor in his section. The new media he was responsible for won the Hurun List(胡润财经新媒体评选) of Top50 for excellence in new media in 2016.
In 2017,Zilong organized events and set up a community of peers in major cities like Shanghai and Beijing,earlier this year, he joined the entertainment industry Dreamwork, a new media start-up focused on the entertainment industry, as a partner and as a chief editor,he was responsible for Gaming giants such as Tencent, Net Ease on the Chinese Mainland, Sony in Japan and Blizzard in the US.
